Open Educational Resources

“The opposite of open is not closed, the opposite of open is broken”

This is a quote from John Wilbanks, an open access advocate. Saxion also advocates for openness by encouraging the use of open educational resources, open data, and open science. Are you a lecturer interested in learning more about the possibilities of open educational resources? This site offers tips and suggestions for reusing, developing, and sharing resources.

Open Educational Resources (OER) are (digital) educational materials that you can use freely. Reuse by others is also permitted. This ensures that the material is easily adapted. It can also be shared outside the classroom. OER materials include teaching materials, but also entire courses, modules, textbooks, tests, software, and other tools, materials, or technologies that enable access to knowledge.
Where can you find the most important questions and answers?

The vast array of open educational resources can make it difficult to find relevant and high-quality materials. Therefore, the Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) and Saxion Library have compiled overviews of open educational resources on generic topics. These are intended to inspire and motivate you: to show you the valuable open educational resources available and how they can be used in your teaching.
